Lesson learned

November 27, 2007

I recently learned an important lesson that I will now pass on to you.  Never play Big Brain Academy at bedtime.  It will not help you wind down from your hectic day.  Instead, it will get your brain all geared up and whirring around in that head of yours until sleep is an impossibility.  Seriously, you might as well drink 5 espressos.  And if you were to somehow get to sleep, you would dream about shapes and coins and numbers.  And you have to pee multiple times throughout the night.  Okay, the last one might just be me.

Music = success & money?

November 16, 2007

So I was listening to the radio on my way to work, and they were citing a study that those who participated in a music program in school were more likely to be successful career-wise as adults and earn higher salaries. Wow… I must be an outlier in that study, considering I make less than the average salary of the state in which I reside. So I did a study of my own at lunch. Granted, my sample was completely skewed, but of the 9 people at the table, 7 actively participated in a music program in school. But somehow we all ended up in low paying, dead end jobs. We completely blew that study out of the water.  Or maybe we’re all underachievers.

Would you strut your stuff… in your undies… for all the internet to see… for a chance at $5,000?

Heck yeah!

…pants without pockets.

Worse even? Faux pockets.

… the very first thing I would do would be to take a sledgehammer to my alarm clock.

It may be a Keep The Dream Alive day.
